Dedicated to celebrating diverse cultural traditions through food, the NYFIH aims to bridge the gap between home-based production and large-scale manufacturing. By providing cutting-edge collaborative infrastructure for food product development, manufacturing, and marketing, the hub seeks to drive sustainable economic growth and create high-value job opportunities in New York. The initiative focuses on empowering local businesses to succeed in an increasingly competitive marketplace, with an initial emphasis on coffees, teas, spices, condiments, and juices.
Village Spice @ The New York Food Innovation Hub is a dynamic ecosystem designed to support and scale emerging farm to table food brands that celebrate diverse cultural traditions. The Hub provides small batch manufacturing that bridges companies from home-based production and prepares these companies to tap the regional and national infrastructure for food manufacturing, distribution and sales.
Our small batch production infrastructure is designed to facilitate co-production between firms in a targeted agribusiness sector, with an initial focus on coffees, teas, spices, condiments and juices. The Hub will partner with these firms to establish traceable supply chains from farm to table. We will also provide technical support on product development and compliance with strict food safety standards. By providing information exchange and strategic partnerships, we aim to empower local businesses to succeed in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
Our pilot production facility in the vibrant Mott Haven area of the Bronx is co-located with a hospitality campus which will serve as a hub for culinary innovation and experiential marketing. Village Spice will empower emerging brands to access the business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketplace. Equipped with state-of-the-art studio facilities, tasting room and inspiring event spaces, the Village Spice will provide a one-stop destination for emerging brands to build out their social media presence, hone their experiential marketing programs and strengthen their direct-to-consumer infrastructure.
The Hub will build strategic alliances with other key stakeholders in the food sector. The campus will support and engage the next generation of chefs, restaurateurs and event professionals, working with them as direct clients as well as cultural ambassadors. The Hub will build out a network of regional and national foods distributors and retailers, and in this way serve a trusted access point for new brands that are positioned to scale.
